SAULT STE. MARIE -- A group of people, upset over recent votes to cut school funding, are sending pink slips to lawmakers.

Members of the Eastern Upper Peninsula Community Action Team are meeting at the Sault Ste. Marie post office at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The "pink slips" were collected at the Kincheloe rally on July 19.  The group is protesting recent votes to slash local K-12 schools by $500 million.  The "pink slips" will be mailed to Governor Rick Snyder, Sen Howard Walker (R-Traverse City) and Rep. Frank Foster (R-Pellston).
