Possible attempted abduction in Grand Traverse County

The Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspicious situation that happened near the intersection of Wemple Road and Fielstra in East Bay Township.

At around 3:15 p.m., Thursday, a 13-year-old boy was approached by an unknown white male in a vehicle.  The Sheriff's office tells 7&4 news, the man began speaking with the boy and offered him ice cream.  As other vehicles entered the area, the subject drove off. 

The subject's vehicle was described as a newer model, pick-up truck, white or silver in color, with a white topper. 

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 995-5000 or 922-4550.
