TRAVERSE CITY -- It was a head shaving show in downtown Traverse City Saturday where dozens of people buzzed their heads to support a great cause.

The crew at 7 Monks Taproom in Traverse City held the fundraiser event this afternoon. More than 20 employees and volunteers, including two women, spent the afternoon buzzing their heads to raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation.

St. Baldrick's is a national charity that is committed to raising money and finding cures for childhood cancer.

Organizers say Saturday's event is a great excuse to have a liquid lunch, and a fun way to give back to those in need.

"It's such a devastating disease that we just want to make a difference," says event coordinator, Trevis Gillow.  "That's what we've brought our friends and family together to try and accomplish."

7 Monks Taproom also donated a portion of all food sales made on Saturday to the St. Baldrick's Foundation, while those who shaved their heads collected donations from friends and family members. The goal by the end of the day is to raise $20 thousand.

There are more than 10,000 events nationwide working to raise money towards cancer research through the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
