We have low pressure to the north of us in Canada and another in the plains, with a cold front stretched between them. As we head into Sunday, the cold front reaches Lake Michigan and our southern low is near Missouri.... That low tracks along the front, crossing the lower peninsula Monday.

Later Sunday into Monday we're looking at more wintry mix and a changeover to snow, with the higher snow accumulations in the northernmost counties. Be prepared for some possible slick roads tonight through Monday.

As of now, here's how things are breaking down. Sunday morning some of us will see a bit of a break in the rain, but by mid-morning expect some showers for the E. U.P. and the Lake Michigan side inland.

We'll get another precip break in the later afternoon hours, before another round makes it's way in around dinner. We'll see more rain push across the area, with freezing rain and wintry mix inland.

By late night Sunday into very early Monday, expect snow showers across the E. U.P. and straits areas, a wintry mix inland, and most of the lower peninsula to be receiving rain.

For your Monday morning commute, some areas may not be seeing anything falling from the sky, but keep in mind that icy roads are still possible and you may need to give yourself extra time heading out the door. We're still looking at scattered rain for the southern-most counties, mix for some, and snow for the northern-most areas. By then, many near the straits will have an inch or two on the ground, those in the E. U.P. closer to 2-3".

Low pressure crosses through the lower peninsula during the day Monday, touching off another couple inches of snow for the E. U.P. and possibly some light accumulations (1/2-1") throughout the lower peninsula.

The exact track of the low can change these snow totals, so we'll make sure to keep you updated.
