Unoccupied residence in Grant Township catches fire and is a total loss Saturday evening.  / upnorthlive.com

CLARE COUNTY -- At around 8p.m. Saturday evening, Clare County Dispatch received a call of a house fire on the 7000 block of South Clare Avenue in Grant Township. 

At the time of the call, no one was at the home. 

Despite efforts from surrounding fire departments, the two story home was a total loss.

Clare Fire Department was assisted by Surrey Township, and Harrison Fire Departments as well as the American Red Cross and Mobile Medical response ambulance service.

No one was hurt and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
