Police arrested a 24-year-old Alpena man early Monday for breaking into an apartment and assaulting two people inside.

ALPENA -- Police arrested a 24-year-old man early Monday for breaking into an apartment.

It happened on the 400 block of Tawas Street in Alpena. 

Police say the man went to the apartment in search of his girlfriend following an argument at a bar.  The suspect illegally entered the apartment and assaulted his girlfriends ex-boyfriend and his sister.  The suspect's girlfriend was also inside the apartment, she was not hurt.

The suspect is in jail and will be arraigned on first degree home invasion charges Monday.
