Deputies arrest suspect in multiple burglaries

MONTCALM COUNTY -- The Montcalm County Sheriff's Office and Michigan State Police say they have a man in custody who may be responsible for six break-ins in October of 2012.

Keith Allen Ames, 25, of Cedar Springs was charged yesterday in connection with one of those thefts.

Ames was arrainged on one count of Breaking and Entering into a residence. He is being held on $15,000 bond.

The series of thefts happened in Pierson and Reynolds Townships.

Investigators say Ames became a primary suspect after he was apprehended in Kent County on similar crimes.

The Montcalm County Sheriff's Office and Michigan State Police have identified and contacted all of the victims.
