Quiet weather tonight , but low pressure changes things come Monday.

High pressure in the Ohio valley let us see some sunshine Sunday, and will keep things quiet overnight. We'll see just a few flurries heading into the late-night.

Low pressure (an Alberta Clipper) located north of North Dakota Sunday evening, has a warm front extending down through Iowa. As this approaches the Great Lakes, expect our cloud cover and our temps to rise overnight, winds out of the SE at 5-15mph.

Monday, the low pressure moves into the W. U.P. and the winds pick up - out of the SE at 10-25mph, gusts around 30mph possible.

For your Monday morning commute - looking at a few light snow showers possible for the E. U.P. & northernmost counties. Elsewhere, mainly just clouds that will stick around throughout the day.

For Monday afternoon into your evening - rain, freezing rain, and wintry mix moves into the L.P. and snow showers move into the E. U.P. (could pick up around an inch in accumulation).

Late night Monday into Tuesday, the low pressure moves across the N. Lower. This will cause the L.P. to continue to see rain, freezing rain, and wintry mix, most picking up about 1/2" to around 1". Freezing rain and snow showers for the E. U.P., seeing about 2-3" in accumulation.

The low pressure continues to push eastward on Tuesday. Winds will be out of the NW, causing a changeover to all snow across Northern Michigan. Expect Tuesday to be a snowy, breezy day with lake effect snows to continue throughout the day into Wednesday.

By Wednesday morning, the lake effect areas, inland, and the E. U.P. could be looking at 3-5" in accumulation, with the remainder of the viewing area receiving around 1".

We'll continue to keep you updated on snowfall accumulation amounts and the remainder of the workweek.

Sunshine returns for Thursday, and we're watching another low pressure (forming in the plains) to bring possible scattered snow showers Friday.
