Low pressure forming in the plains will cross through the E. U.P. on Monday, bringing warm temps and rain Sunday, switching over to all snow by Monday.

As we head into Sunday afternoon and evening, expect cloud cover to increase and rain/freezing rain/wintry mix to make it's way in from the west. By dinnertime everyone will be seeing some form of precipitation. We'll see highs in the 30s across Northern Michigan, and even some low 40s, therefore most will see rain. However, as we get later into the evening (or if you're in the northernmost counties) expect more of a mix.

Overnight into Monday, the E. U.P. may pick up 2-5" in sleet and snow accumulation. Elsewhere, we'll still see a lot of rain - but with lows hovering right around freezing, icy roads for your commute aren't out of the question, especially inland and in higher terrain areas.

The low crosses eastward Monday, changing everyone's precip over to snow during the day, and many will pick up a slushy 1-2" by Monday night. Some, especially in lake effect areas may see snow falling during their drive home from work or school Monday.

We'll keep snow in the forecast for Tuesday-especially for lake effect locations-as a cold front passes through.
