SAULT STE. MARIE -- Two people were arrested for operating a Methamphetamine Lab in Sault Ste. Marie.

On Saturday, officers from Sault Ste. Marie discovered an active meth lab in a house in the 2300 block of Andary Avenue.

Officers were able to secure the house and contacted the Straits Area Narcotic team to assist with the lab, which was in the basement of the house.

Three people were detained by officers. A man and woman were arrested for operating the lab.

A two-year-old child who was at the home was taken into protective custody and placed with family members.

No suspect names are available at this time due to the continued investigation.
