GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY -- The UPS Store on 14th Street is busy as usual today. Even though it's Christmas Eve there is still a steady stream of people bringing in last minute gifts to send to friends or family.

Wednesday is the earliest that anything mailed today will arrive where it was sent, and many last-minute shippers are OK with that. Even UPS Store employees acknowledge that Christmas isn't just about when a gift arrives.

"It doesn't matter if it gets there on the day, that's not what its about. It's about other things, you know? You know, if its a couple days later , its a couple days later. It just makes their gift more important," said UPS Store assistant manager Rene Everson.

After the busy Christmas shipping season has passed, shipping facilities anticipate January to be just as busy with returns.
