WEST BRANCH -- Two correctional officers at the Ogemaw County Jail were charged with embezzlement today.

The charges stem from an investigation requested by the Ogemaw Sheriff's Department. Michigan State Police handled the investigation.

The charges indicate the amount embezzled was greater than $200.00 but less than $1000.00. It carries a maximum of 1 year and/or $2000, or three times the amount embezzled, whichever is greater.

All future proceedings will be handled by the Arenac County Prosecutor's Office.
