A historic house in Cadillac went up in flames today.  The Cadillac fire chief tells 7&4 News the fire broke out around 3:00 this afternoon in the upper floors of the 3-story house.

There are three apartments in the house and we're told everyone made it out safely.  Firefighters aren't sure what caused the fire and say they plan to start their investigation tomorrow.

Due to the structure of the house, crews were on the scene for about 4 hours trying to get the blaze under control.  They say small fires in confined parts of the building made this fire hard to put out.
