State police arrest suspect in Mt. Pleasant shooting

ISABELLA CO. -- Michigan State Police Troopers arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting that occurred in Mt. Pleasant Saturday night.

42-year-old David Osborne of Farwell was arrested and charged with shooting at the car Saturday.

On Saturday, Troopers investigated a report of a vehicle being shot at with three people inside, according to a press release from the Michigan State Police. 

An investigation revealed the victims of the shooting at "turfed" the suspect's lawn earlier in the evening, State Police say. The suspect invited the victims to return and when they did, the suspect fired several rounds from a shotgun into the car.

Michigan State Police say troopers contacted the suspect, who was intoxicated, and he admitted he had shot at the vehicle. He was arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder, 3 counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, felony firearm, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and reckless use of a firearm.

No one was hurt.

An investigation into the situation is ongoing and additional charges are possible, State Police say.
