Hostess threatens to close if strike doesn't end

NORTHWOOD, OHIO -- Striking workers remained on the picket line in Northwood, Ohio despite the threat of losing their jobs.

NBC News is reporting that Hostess Brands said it would file a motion with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to liquidate the entire company if workers did not return by 5 pm today.

The company issued a statement that it does not have the financial resources to survive an ongoing national strike, according to NBC.

Union officials are telling workers not to go back.

Hostess is based in Texas and operated 36 bakeries across the country, like this one near Cleveland.

Union workers went on strike November 9th to protest cuts to wages and benefits.
