NEWAYGO CO. -- 86-year-old Josephine Schondelmayer died in a house fire in Newaygo County Wednesday.
Deputies from the Newaygo County Sheriff's Office and the White Cloud Fire Department were dispatched to a home in Everett Township.
The home was engulfed in flames when they arrived and they were notified by the 911 caller than the homeowner, Schodelmayer, was still inside. The fire was soon extinguished and the body of the homeowner was found inside. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Michigan State Police Fire Marshall was called to the scene, but the fire is not believed to be suspicious.
It remains under investigation.
