S. BOARDMAN -- The Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office tells 7&4 News a logging truck did not hear or see the train at the railroad crossing in Boardman Township Friday afternoon causing a crash.

It happened at the intersection of South Boardman Rd. and Main Street.

The driver of the semi was taken to Kalkaska Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The train, which has Great Lakes Central written on the side, was derailed.  The semi-truck is from Mid-Michigan Logging out of Lake City.  It was carrying a bed full of wood chips when the crash took place.  The bed of the truck is still on the tracks at this time.

Deputies at the scene tell 7&4's Lauren Amstutz they have never seen anything like this crash.  A homeowner nearby said the crash shook her home.

The Kalkaska County Sheriff says South Boardman and Main Street will be shut down for several days for the massive cleanup.
