Fire blazes near Interlochen

INTERLOCHEN, MICH. -- Fire crews are still at the scene of a large building fire in Grand Traverse County.

The fire broke out around 8:30 tonight at a pole barn type structure on East Duck Lake Road, east of Interlochen.

Dozens of firefighters from at least 2 different area fire departments were on scene. Flames shot 15 feet or more in the air as the fire quickly spread to another nearby barn.

Neighbors tell 7&4 News they heard an explosion before seeing the barns go up in flames.

We're told everyone did make it out of the building safely.
