CADILLAC -- A water main break in Cadillac has students and staff at an area school making alternate plans for everyday needs.

The water main broke just east of Cadillac Junior High School Thursday morning. While city workers make repairs, school leaders are planning ahead to keep classes in session.

The District Health Department has been notified and supports the precautions that Cadillac Area Public Schools has put into place. Precautions for the day include:  Bottled water for staff and students for drinking and restroom usage at the junior high.  Cadillac High School is supplied by a different water main.  Food service will provide lunch service as planned.

Memorial Stadium is not impacted and Thursday's Freshman and JV football games will take place as scheduled.

Traffic adjustments along Chestnut Street and at Cadillac Junnior High  may be necessary.  The City of Cadillac and Cadillac Area Public School’s  Maintenance Crew will address traffic routing as the repairs take place through the day.
