TRAVERSE CITY -- A local restaurant manager says he's watching money drive by after changes were made to a nearby parking lot.

Xylo Bistro customers have been able to park for free just feet from the door since the restaurant opened in the Warehouse District last year. At the request of Fifth Third Bank who owns the parking lot, the Downtown Development Authority changed the spots into city permit only spaces.

Xylo Bistro General Manager, Tom Grant says about 30 to 40 spaces just sit vacant in front of the restaurant everyday while his customers drive around looking for a place to park. He believes he has lost business because of the hastle.

Grant would like to see the DDA put meters on some of the spots so that people can park there, and business will pick back up.

The DDA has contacted Xylo Bistro to hopefully work out an agreement.
