TRAVERSE CITY -- During Pet Talk on 7&4 News Today, Dr. Jen Klabunde talked about the health benefits behind spaying your female dog or cat. Dr. Klabunde says the best time to spay an animal is between four and six months.
Some of the benefits of spaying a pet include:
*No unwanted litters
*No heat cycles
*No chance of a pyometra (uterus disease) later in life
*Greatly reduces risk of mammary (breast) cancer
