OCEANA COUNTY -- A married couple is dead after crashing a powered parachute aircraft in Oceana County.

Just after 6:00pm Friday night, Henry and Carol Austin crashed their powered parachute into the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, near an area that's commonly called "test hill." The sand dunes are located within Silver Lake State Park in Golden Township.

Oceana County Sheriff's Office says the couple was killed on impact and they continue to investigate what caused the crash.

Henry and Carol Austin were from Shelby, Michigan and owned a business where they trained people how to fly powered parachutes.
