6-year-old boy hospitalized after being hit by truck at fairgrounds

BLAIR TWP. -- A 6-year-old Williamsburg boy was transported to the hospital after being hit by a truck.

According to the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office, the boy was riding a bike on a service drive at the Northwestern Michigan Fairgrounds when he was hit by a pick up truck.

The truck, driven by a 39-year-old Kingsley man, was backing up on the service drive and hit the child, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The boy was taken to Munson Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
