KALKASKA CO. -- A 52-year-old Flint man drowned in Torch Lake Tuesday night.
Gary Reynolds and his wife, Lucinda were walking west towards the sand bar from a home on Crystal Beach Rd. when they stepped into deeper water and were unable to swim out. The water was approximately 10 feet, according to the Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office says neighbors and witnesses heard calls for help and saw what happened. Lucinda Reynolds was rescued and taken to shore. Efforts were then made to rescue Gary, as he was taken from the water and given CPR.
He was taken to Kalkaska Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accident remains under investigation by the Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office.
