WILLIAMSBURG -- Governor Rick Snyder has ordered U.S. flags to be lowered to half-staff Friday in honor of Marine Sgt. Justin Hansen.

Sgt. Hansen, who was from Williamsburg in Grand Traverse County, was killed July 24 in Afghanistan.  Hansen, 26, was a 2003 graduate of Kingsley High School.   He joined the Marines at age 19, and for the past 7 years he has been deployed on three tours of duty, the first in Iraq, and two in Afghanistan.

The Director of Cherry Capital Airport says that they have been informed that Sgt. Hansen's body is tentatively scheduled to be brought to northern Michigan at 10am Friday.  His funeral will take place Saturday at Kingsley High School.  Visitation will take pace at 11am with the service beginning at 1pm.
