SHELBY TOWNSHIP (AP) -- A Detroit-area man is accused of being a karaoke pirate.

Stellar Records of Fall River, Mass., is suing James Mudge II, claiming he used a website to sell illegal versions of its licensed karaoke recordings.

The company says nearly 300 have been sold to thousands of people.

The songs are by a range of artists, from Justin Bieber to James Brown to Adele.

Stellar Records is seeking at least $207,000 and legal fees in its lawsuit in Detroit federal court.

It also wants a judge to order the destruction of any illegal files and equipment.

A message seeking comment was left for Mudge, a resident of Macomb County's Shelby Township.
