CLARE COUNTY -- Storms knocked down trees and power lines in Northern Michigan Wednesday night.  In some areas winds reached nearly 45 miles per hour. Houses were damaged and people spent Thursday cleaning up their yards from the mess the storm created.

"This storm was skirting the extreme Northeast corner of our county that had previously travelled across Wexford, Missaukee and Roscommon Counties and had spawned a possible tornado near Manton," said Clare County official Jerry Becker.

There have been no reports of injuries or reports of any flooding so far.
