REED CITY -- The largest Yoplait plant in the country will lay off 49 employees from their production facility in Reed City.

A spokesman from the company says this is due to "changing business needs."

The company says the lay offs will occur over the next sixty days.

The company is working with the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, Local 386. According to the Union's website, a 4 year contract was ratified in October 2011.

The RWDSU also says the Reed City plant employs 370 people and produces 11 million cases of yogurt per month.
