TRAVERSE CITY -- A man was arrested near the Volleyball Courts in Traverse City after he exposed himself in front of two families.
The witnesses say that the man removed his pants exposing his buttocks and genital area and continued to do so as he laid on the beach on his back. This caused the families, who had children, to remove themselves from the area.
Police identified the suspect as a 41-year-old man from Traverse City. He is currently on parole for a felony conviction for assault with intent to do bodily harm less than murder. He was also convicted for a third offense driving while intoxicated.
A condition of his parole was to not consume alcohol. He was intoxicated when arrested.
The suspect has an extensive criminal background with nine previous convictions for a variety of crimes.
