"I thought it was a hurricane, I've never been in a hurricane, but if this is what a hurricane is, I don't want to be in it," said Grawn resident Dan Bush.

The hurricane-like weather ripped Bush's awning off the front of his house and threw it 50 yards into his back yard.

Just across the street, his neighbor, Bill Endres, also had damage.

"I took a look outside there, just about the time I turned around, the window blew out and actually blew clear across the living room and I was able to see out at that point and what I was able to see was like just sheets of water, horizontal rain, just completely almost like it was like a curtain," Endres explained.

After the wild weather calmed down, Bush and Endres joined the rest of their neighbors and started cleaning up the mess left by the storm.

"We got together and cut the trees up and so that everyone could get out, then we checked on everybody to make sure their ok," Bush said.

"Everybody banded together to help everybody else out, we got the tractor connected to the generator and got that all fired up and we had a place here for anybody to come and wanted to come over and be in a lighted area and have drinking water available and so forth," Endres explained.

And the work here continues tonight with everyone hoping this next storm passes this neighborhood by.
