Crews are searching for a possible plane crash in Good Harbor Bay in Leelanau County.

LEELANAU CO. -- UPDATE: Authorities have determined that the plane was a training plane from Northwestern Michigan College and there was in fact no crash.

Crews from several agencies are searching for a possible plane crash in Good Harbor Bay in Leelanau County.

A witness called 911 when he thought he heard a single engine plane in trouble around 12pm Wednesday.  Officials say the plane took off from the Sugar Loaf airport.

The Leelanau County Sheriff's Office, Coast Guard,  Department of Natural Resources, Fire and Rescue crews from Cedar and Glen Arbor are all taking part in the search efforts.  The crews are looking for any signs of a plane crash including debris and oil slicks.
