KENT COUNTY -- Two northern Michigan women are dead, after a rollover accident in Kent County Saturday morning.

Emergency crews were called out to a rollover accident on I-96, near the 28th Street Ramp at around 11:00am Saturday morning.

Michigan State Police say it appears the car was traveling too fast as it entered the Eastbound ramp and this caused the car to roll several times.

There were three people in the vehicle. One of the passengers, 35 year-old Wendy Sak from Lake Ann was pronounced dead at the scene. The other passenger 50 year-old Julie Davis from Traverse City was taken to the hospital where she died from her injures.

The driver of the car, who is also from Traverse City was taken to the hospital. There is no word yet on her current condition and her name has not been released.
