FLINT (AP) -- The driver of a semi-truck loaded with potatoes stood on top of the cab to await a rescue as a flood covered Interstate 75 near Flint.

Brandon Jenkins was in good spirits Friday during a phone interview with Detroit TV station WDIV. He says he was trying to back up and avoid the deepest water when his truck quit.

More than 5 inches of rain hit the Flint area Thursday and Friday. Jenkins was rescued by people in a small boat. The Kalkaska man says he was never worried and "just wanted to stay dry." He was driving to Detroit and believes his potatoes are fine.

Jenkins says: "I guess I'll have a story to tell."
