TRAVERSE CITY -- Tune in every Wednesday at 6:30 pm for "UpNorthLive ReVibe" on UpNorthLive Tonight on ABC 29&8.

Denine Dingeman, designer at Charitable Resale, teaches you to style with ease to affordably create desirable living spaces using cast-off items.

She's teaming up with Dan Brady, "tricks-of-the-trade" painter at Dan Brady Painting and Wood Restoration. He brings you time-saving tricks and products that are easy to find and use.

This week, Dan and Denine are showing you how to ReVibe an old end table in four simple steps.

Four Steps to ReVibe an end table:

1. Plan: Gather Table, Sanding Sponge, Paintbrush, Paint, Frogtape

"Use Frogtape for a razor-sharp edge in painted patterns," said Dan Brady. "And a really easy way to prep it is to use a sanding sponge."

2. Prep: Sand or Degloss and Prime

"Make sure you check for lead based paint on it first," said Dan. "If it doesn't have any lead-based paint, go ahead and use a sanding sponge."

3. Design Direction: Create Pattern or Color Scheme

"I chose an espresso brown paint," said Denine. "Then I went over to Northwood paint and I found a small bottle of metallic bronze paint to do a metallic detail on the top."

4. Apply: Pattern and Paint

"It's subtle, but it's a really nice update," said Denine. "It adds more character to your room."
