Two teens face felony charges for bringing a gun to school

MANCELONA -- Two Antrim County teenagers are charged with felony weapons violations after one of the boys brought a gun to school.

It happened last Thursday at Mancelona High School.  Crews were called to the school around 10:45am for a report that a student had a gun.

Two students, ages 15 and 16, were arrested.

The small caliber handgun was not loaded.  Investigators were told one of the boys wanted to buy a gun for target practice and that they were not intending to harm anyone.

One of the teens is charged with 2 weapon felony charges, a possession drug charge and a possession of tobacco charge.  The other teen is charged with 3 weapon felony charges.

Both were turned over to their parents.
