A head on crash shut down a busy Grand Traverse County highway Thursday.
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY -- Update: Friday 3:45 pm
Investigators say 49 year old Jeffery Bale Adams was driving southbound late Thursday afternoon on U.S. 31 near Holiday Road when for some reason he crossed the center lane and struck an oncoming car.
Adams was listed in critical condition Friday afternoon. The sheriff's department says the driver of the other car was not seriously hurt.
The road was closed for over an hour as crews cleaned up the scene. The road has since reopened.
The accident remains under investigation.
