TRAVERSE CITY -- The Michigan Civil Rights Commission is holding a public forum on the impact bullying can have on its victims and the community.
As a part of Bullying Awareness Week, the commission is taking a closer look at the problem of bullying around the state, while hearing stories of how bullying and harassment has impacted victims, families, and educators.
Thursday evening, several people who have experienced bullying first hand testified at the forum.
Kingsley High School Junior, Marquice Mandarich who is a victim of bullying says, "It hurts in more ways than one. There's different kinds of hurt, there's the physical that pretty much anyone can handle, and then there's the emotional which is ten times worse."
The forum was held 4-7pm at Hagerty Center on NMC's Great Lakes Campus.
