Obesity affects 17% of children and teens

TRAVERSE CITY -- It's a growing problem among children and teens. The Center for Disease control reports that it now affects 17% of children and teens. It's obesity.

But there's an easy, 4-step plan that can help you work in healthy eating and activities into your chiild's day. Dr. LuAnn Labian from the Traverse Area Pediatric & Adolescent Clinic explains the "5-2-1-0" plan in this week's House Call.

"A nice, easy way to keep your family healthy is to remember '5-2-1-0,'" says Labian.

The "5-2-1-0" plan incorporates healthy eating, limited TV time, physical activity and discusses the benefits of replacing soft drinks with water. Adults, this means you, too!
