INTERLOCHEN -- You have the chance to see a classic holiday production in person, when it's performed at a local arts academy.
The Interlochen Dance Company and Orchestra are presenting the story of the Nutcracker. Organizers say the enchanting holiday classic features magnificent dancing, colorful costumes and one of the most enduring scores in all of ballet.
This performance is also unique because it is put on by arts students at the academy.
Director of Dance Cameron Basden says, "Everything that you can imagine about the holiday season is alive in this production and is very particular to Interlochen because Interlochen is able to produce all of this together."
Performances are being held at the Corson Auditorium at the Interlochen Center for the Arts.
Tickets are $23.00 for adults, $20.00 for seniors and $9.00 for students. There are two more performances on Saturday.
