TRAVERSE CITY -- Robert Jensen Schwander spoke to the courtroom Friday before sentencing. His voice cracked and he was shaky as he told the judge this isn't who he planned to be.

Schwander apologized to his parents who were sitting behind him, and they told him they forgive him.

The 18-year old man convicted of killing Carly Lewis on June 2nd also apologized to the Lewis Family.

Judge Thomas Power sentenced Schwander to a minimum of 40 years in prison.
