BOYNE FALLS, MI -- Ski resorts across northern Michigan are anticipating a little bit of a late start to the season this year.
"Our goal to open is usually Thanksgiving. We always want to be open by Thanksgiving," said Boyne Mountain General Manager Ed Grice. "We have plenty of snow making power that once we do hit that temperature (28 degrees) we'll be able to get in business a pretty short time later."
For now, Boyne Mountain, Shanty Creek and Crystal Mountain all said they are on standby. Each resort has their snow guns in place. Now they just need temperatures to drop below freezing.
