BOYNE CITY, MI -- There could some day be a new place to ice skate in Boyne City.

City officials are looking into whether or not they should add an ice rink downtown.

The city manager says downtown businesses pitched the idea about a new rink to be a winter attraction at Sunset Park.

The "Main Street Program" is now looking at the costs that would go into the addition.

"There's a lot of details worth looking at, it's a little more complicated than taking a hose and flooding it out, and we went to make sure if we do it, we do it right," said City Manager Michael Cain.

Cain says he isn't sure when the final decision will be made on this rink proposal.

If it is approved, the rink would be the second one in the city.

There's already a full size rink at Avalanche Preserve Recreation Center.
