A 62 year-old Briley Twp. man is dead, police believe he was killed.
MONTMORENCY CO., MI -- "Evidence recovered by troopers there and by the Michigan State Police Crime lab indicates that he was a victim of homicide," said Michigan State Police Alpena Post Commander F/Lt. Michael Caldwell.
A man-hunt Monday night for the person who police say who murdered a 62 year-old Montmorency County man and they may need your help.
The victim, Terry Allen Lee, was killed sometime yesterday afternoon.
Monday, the investigation was in full-force.
Police say the investigation began at 11:30 Sunday night at this home on Kellyville Road, which is north of Atlanta. They say every indication so far makes them believe it was a homicide.
"It’s a little early in our investigation to release any specific details about the crime or the crime scene, but again, we will be following up on leads today," said Caldwell.
And Monday, detectives went door to door talking to neighbors near where the murder happened. The Lee home was taped off as investigators looked for evidence inside.
“We do not believe this was a random case of violence. However, evidence at the scene indicates the victim may have known the suspect in this case," said Caldwell.
The victim, 62 year-old Terry Allen Lee, was found dead in his home late Sunday night. Police say the retired GM worker who has lived in the area for several years was killed sometime around 2:30.
"This is a high priority case and we do have many detectives throughout the 7th district working on it," said Caldwell.
A pivotal piece of evidence is the victim's 1995 red Chevrolet pick-up. Police found it a mile away from the home at the corner of Kellyville Road and M-33 and went over it today looking for any clues.
