TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- Hundreds of people gathered at Reynolds-Jonkoff Funeral Home Saturday night during a visitation for Carly Lewis.

The teen’s body was found earlier this week. Police believe she was murdered by Robert Jensen Schwander, 17.

During the visitation, Susie Lewis, Carly’s mother, said she hopes that the community will learn from this tragedy. “I guess what I want to come out of this is love one another...and kids keep in touch with your parents and let them know where you are at."

The funeral service will take place:
West Side Community Church
Monday, June 20, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The family is asking memorial contributions be made to the Cherryland Humane Society.

A fund has also been set up at Honor Bank for the Lewis family for funeral costs.   Donations can be made at any of the locations throughout northern Michigan.
You can also make a donation set up by Honor Bank through "WE PAY".  The page was set up originally to help with raising reward money and for search costs - but the donations will now go toward funeral expenses.
