Golf Magazine names "Threetops" the best par three
GAYLORD, MI -- A Northern Michigan golf course has received a top honor..
The "Threetops'" course, a par three course at Treetops Resort in Gaylord, is named the number one par three golf course in North America in this month's edition of Golf Magazine.
For a number of years, the course hosted ESPN's Par Three Shootout, and Kevin McKinley, the Director of Golf, says it presents a challenge to golfers because of the elevation changes, but it also presents beauty in its architecture and spectacular views.
"We have no problem retaining people once they played it one time, but people need to know before they come play how special it is and it's great, so being able to put something out there like that and be able to put another magazine on all of the other magazines that we have, it's great and it allows people to come to this area," said Kevin McKinley.
The par three course has also been named number one in the magazines Golf Week, Golf Range, and Travel and Leisure.
