PONTIAC -- Northern Michigan boys won a spot at the podium at the International Series of Champions (ISOC) Snocross event at the Pontiac Silverdome Saturday.

Carson Alread and Brendon Gouin, both students at Gaylord Intermediate School, competed in the Transition 8-12 yr old class with their 300cc Ski-Doo sleds.

Both boys have been competing in the sport since they were four years old.

During the qualifying round, Carson posted the fastest lap time and Brendon took third.

In the final, Carson Alread took 2nd place and Brendon Gouin took 3rd place, sending them both to the podium in front of a large crowd inside the Pontiac Silverdome.

The ISOC Snocross series features classes for very young, 120cc riders up through the Pro’s, and often has the boys traveling as far away as Minnesota, New York, and Wisconsin for races.

Both boys are competing at a level that has won them several sponsorships.

Carson’s #631 Alread Motorsports Racing team is sponsored  Stud Boy Traction Products, FXR, & AMSOIL and Brendon’s #373 YS Racing team is sponsored by Great Lakes Diving & Salvage and Speedpunks Images.

Their next event is in Frankfort, Michigan, on February 19th and 20th, during Frankfort’s “Shiver by the River” Festival.
