TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- Cherries are a huge part of Northern Michigan's way of life. Which is why one cherry expert is sharing her knowledge with others in the business.
Michelle White will be at the Orchard and Vineyard Show tomorrow at the Grand Traverse Resort.
White is the recipient of last year's Distinguished Service Award from the Leelanau Horticultural Society.
She was honored for her contributions to the fruit industry.
White said, "I discovered that tart cherries had amazing health benefits to aid in pain relief and sleep. My theory is, is there's probably not enough tart cherries for the amount of people that can benefit from them."
She has a medicinal line called Michelle's Miracle products.
They are available nationwide in health food and drug stores and even in Whole Foods Markets.
