(AP) -- The Michigan Supreme Court says it won't wade into global warming. The court has refused to take an appeal from a group called Citizens for Environmental Inquiry, which had asked state officials to regulate emissions of carbon dioxide.

The Department of Environmental Quality declined in 2007, and two courts subsequently said the group lacks the legal right to demand regulation.

The group says global warming and climate change hurt every Michigan resident. But the Supreme Court says it's not an issue it wants to review. The decision was released Wednesday.
