LUDINGTON -- The Michigan State Police Underwater Recovery Unit has located the plane that crashed last week in Lake Michigan.
Thursday evening the State Police Unit located an object wiht their side scan sonar units. Police divers then verified that the object found on sonar was the wreckge of the missing plane.
At this time there was a possibility of victims within the area of the wreckage.
Michigan State Police divers are working to confirm the information.
The pilot and only survivor of the plane crash is Jerry Freed of Alma. He owns Freed Construction Company. Freed was treated and released from the hospital. The four missing passengers include co-pilot Earl Davidson, and three other passengers from the Alma area. They are the Alma schools' superintendent Don Pavlik, his wife, Irene, and family friend Dr. James Hall.
