NEAR FARWELL -- Two teens are hospitalized after their car is hit by a train in Clare County.

It happened around 2:40 PM Thursday where the railroad tracks cross Old State Road near the Renosol plant... just outside of Farwell.

According to the Sheriff's Office, two 18-year-olds were in the car.

They say they were heading south over the tracks when it was hit in the passenger door by an east bound train.  The driver, Zachary Kelly of Farwell was taken to the emergency room and later released.

A passenger, Jacob Kelly also of Farwell, was taken to the emergency room and then transferred to St. Mary's hospital in Saginaw.   He is listed in critical condition.
